Curiosity Killed the Cat
Our Descent
We humans are Holobionts,
hosts to trillions of species of organisms
of which we are but a small part, and that
together, symbiotically, we’re
doing our best to survive on a highly toxic
planet located in the outlying spiral arms,
the Orion-Cygnus arm to be exact, of a spiral galaxy
known as the Milky Way, some 26000 light years from
the galaxy’s centre, and that the Milky Way is but one of
an infinite number of galaxies, and stars, in the universe.
Knowing this makes one feel rather small,
so very, very, tiny and unimportant,
as well as make one wonder…
why humanity is so besought to determine
if we are the only life form in the universe when,
we are already a conglomerate of life,
which is a conglomerate of organisms?
Some say that it’s human nature to be curious,
but, didn’t curiosity kill he cat, and look
where curiosity has led humanity
to a state of chaos,
Dantes world no less.
