TIME DOES FLY

 TIME DOES FLY - August 2023

The greens of spring have changed 

to the leathery greens of late summer. 

The hummingbirds, 

as they jostle, and fight 

for a place at the feeder, 

are preparing for their homeward flight. 

The songbirds are waiting 

for a full moon. 

Soon the leaves, 

now summer green, 

will begin to change their colour, 

and slowly shut down. 

We sit and wonder, 

where did the time go? 

Seems like just a few minutes ago, 

we were wishing for the snow, 

and the cold to leave, and now, 

too early for some, 

there’s a hint in the air 

of what’s to come.

Time does fly!
